  41. 1. Hardware Installation
  42. 1-1.Installing a Serial Mouse
  43.   You must have a PC fitted with a Serial/Mouse/Bus port in  order  to  install
  44.   the mouse. Plug your mouse into the Serial/Mouse/Bus port  depending  on  the
  45.   type of mouse.
  46.  
  47. 1-2.Installing a Mouse with Mouse Port (PS/2) Connector
  48.   If you have a mouse with a round mouse port connector, you must turn off the
  49.   computer before connecting or disconnecting your mouse.
  50.     1. Turn the computer off.
  51.     2. Locate an available 6-pin round port on your computer.
  52.     3. Insert the mouse connector into the round mouse port.
  53.     4. Start your computer.

  55. 1-3.Installing a Bus Interface Board and Bus Mouse
  56.    If you have a bus mouse, you need to install the bus interface board into
  57.    your computer. Next you will need to connect the mouse to the bus port.

  59.    The Bus Interface Board Jumpers
  60.    The J1 J2 J3 J4 jumper controls interrupts in your system. Interrupt are
  61.    temporary breaks in the sequence of a program caused by various I/O devices,
  62.    such as keyboard, drawing devices, and printers. Generally, two devices
  63.    connected to the same computer cannot use the same interrupt. You must
  64.    specify a mouse interrupt that does not interfere with the other devices
  65.    connected to your computer.
  66.    The jumper refer to interrupts in the system (IRQs).If you should change the
  67.    jumper. Cross out the positions you cannot use due to the type or configura-
  68.    tion of your system. Then place the removable plastic hood on any position.
  69.    The default setting is IRQ5.

  71. 2. Hard Disk Installation
  72.   1. Insert the mouse driver diskette in Drive A (or B). Type the following:

  76.   2. On the diskette are files required for the  correct  installation  of  the
  77.      software. Type the following :

  86.   The mouse driver has several software options. To see these detailed  options

  92. 4. Switching Mouse Mode
  93. 4-1. Switching Mouse Hareware Modes (Use mode switch)
  94.   The Serial Mouse is capable of operating either as a Microsoft  Serial  Mouse
  95.   or a Mouse Systems Mouse.At the base of the  Mouse  you  will  find  a  slide
  96.   switch. The switch has two possible positions, 'MS' and 'PC' When the  switch
  97.   is set to the 'MS' position the Mouse will emulate a  two-buttoned  Microsoft
  98.   Mouse while setting the switch to the 'PC' position will cause the  Mouse  to
  99.   emulate a three-buttoned Mouse Systems Mouse.

  102. 4-2. Switching Mouse Hardware Modes (None mode switch)
  103.   As mentioned earlier, the serial mouse is capable of operating  either  as  a
  104.   Microsoft Serial Mouse or a Mouse Systems Mouse.Which of the  two  modes  the
  105.   mouse will operate in is determined on the power-on initiation. If any one of
  106.   the three buttons is depressed during power-on  initiation,  the  mouse  will
  107.   emulate Mouse Systems Mouse.While none of the  buttons  is  depressed  during
  108.   power-on initiation the mouse will emulate Microsoft Mouse .

  110. 4-3. Microsoft Mode
  111.   When the mouse is in Microsoft mode, only the  left  and  right  buttons  are
  112.   active, while the middle button is ignored. In this  mode,  your  mouse  will
  113.   correctly emulate a Microsoft Serial Mouse.

  117. 4-4. Mouse Systems Mode
  118.   If you are a user of AUTOCAD or  any  other  software  which  gives  enhanced
  119.   performance with a Mouse Systems Mouse you should choose  this  emulation.  A
  120.   Mouse Systems Mouse operates with all three buttons.

  124. 5. Un-installing the Mouse Driver
  125.   This is done by typing in the following command:

  135. 6-1. For Windows 3.1:
  136.   This disk contains two Windows 3.1 mouse drivers: MOUSE1.DRV and
  137.   MOUSE2.DRV.  Use the MOUSE1.DRV  if mouse is on the COM1 port.
  138.   Use the MOUSE2.DRV  if the mouse is on the COM2 port.

  140.   The root directory on this disk contains two Windows 3.1 mouse
  141.   drivers: MOUSE1.DRV and MOUSE2.DRV.  Run the Windows 3.1 setup
  142.   program.  After you choose  the "Other  Mouse" item, type path
  143.   "A:\" or "B:\".  Select  item 1  "Mouse on Serial port 1, PS/2
  144.   Mouse Port" if the mouse  is on the COM1 port.  Select  item 2
  145.   "Mouse on Serial Port 2" if the mouse is on the COM2 port.

  149. 7. Trouble Shooting
  150.  
  151.   Symptom 1 : No mouse movement.
  152.  
  153.   Solution  : - Make sure the software that you are using
  154.                 supports a mouse.
  155.               - Check that mouse is plugged into serial port
  156.                 at the back of computer.
  157.               - Ensure that mouse driver is installed into memory.

  161.   Symptom 2 : The  cursor  on  the  screen  remains  at  one  spot  or  moves
  162.               erratically.

  164.   Solution  : Check the mouse cable for any breaks or sharp twists.  Examine
  165.               the cable closely where it connects to the mouse.

  169.   Symptom 3 : The cursor movement stops at a corner and no  longer  responds
  170.               to the mouse movement.

  172.   Solution  : Run the mouse driver to check which mode the mouse is operating

  193.     Om de muis te installeren moet uw pc een seriëele poort vrij hebben. Steek

  195.     Als u een PS/2 muis heeft aangeschaft kan deze alleen op de betreffende

  197. 1.2 Installatie op de Harde Schijf (HDD)
  198.     Zet uw computer aan.
  199.     Type na de C: prompt: "CD\" gevold door een return, zodat het zeker is dat
  200.     u in de root terecht komt.
  201. 1.3 Het instelen van de mouse driver software
  202.     Ga voor het instellen van de gevoeligheid etc. naar de root van C: en type:
  203.     "Mouse/?" gevold door een return. Hierna hoeft u alleen de aanwijzingen op
  204.     het scherm te volgen.
  205. 1.4 Installatie van de hardware mode
  206.     U kunt de muis instellen voor gebruik als seriëele muis of als Microsoft
  207.     muis Miervoor kunt u het schakelaartje gebruiken dat onder op de muis zit.
  208.     En de stand waarbij "MS"zichtbaar is werkt de muis als Microsoft muis.
  209.     Nu werken alleen de linker-en rechterknop.
  210.     De middelste knop is niet aangesloten.
  211.     Dit is ook de stand die u kunt gebruiken voor het besturen van Windows

  214.     alle drie de knoppin. Dit is voornamelijk nodig bij intensieve programma's
  215.     als  Autocad e.d waar de middelste knop nodig is voor het besturen van het

  228. 1.1 Installazione Hardware
  229.    Per poter installare il mouse, il vostro PC deve avere un porta seriale.
  230.    Inserire il connettore del mouse nella porta seriale del vostro PC. S'aveto
  231.    acquistuto un mouse per PS/2, inserire il connettore nell'appostita porta
  232.    mouse.

  235.    1. Accendente is vostro computer. All' apparire del C: prompt, eseguire il

  245. 1.3 Impostazione delle opzioni del Driver del Mouse
  246.    Le opzioni sono sel seguenti:

  249. 1.4 Come selezionare le modalita' hardware del mouse
  250.    Come dello sopra il mouse seriale e configurabile sia come Mouse Microsoft
  251.    sit ome Mouse System Mouse.  Nelle parte inferiore del mouse vi e' un
  252.    commutatore consente la selezione tra le modalita'a 2 o 3 pulsanti.
  253.    Per configurare Mouse Microsoft  (2 pulsanti) occorre spostate il
  254.    commutatore nella posizione etichettata "MS".  Per configurare il mouse
  255.    come Mouse System Mouse (3 pulsanti occorre invece spostare il
  256.    commutatore nella posizione etichttata "PC".

  258. 1.5 Configurazione Microsoft
  259.    Quando il mouse e' configurato come Mouse Microsoft, solo i tasti a destra e
  260.    a sinistra funzionano, mentre il lastro al centro e' inattivo. In questo
  261.    modo il vostro mouse lavorera' corettamente come Microsoft Serial Mouse.

  263. 1.6 Configurazione Mouse System Mouse
  264.    Se siete utenti AUTOCAD dovete sciegliere la configurasione Mouse System
  265.    Mouse. In questa configurazione il mouse opera con tutti e tre i tasti.

  307.    La souris serie fonctionne aussi bien en mode MICROSOFT serie, qu'en mode

  309.    Sur le verso de la souris se trouve un commutateur. Ce commutateur comporte
  310.    2 positions; "MS" et "PC". Lorsque le commutateur est positionné sur "MS",
  311.    la souris est mulee en souris MICROSOFT - 2 boutons; le commutateur en
  312.    position "PC" la souris est emulée en souris MOUSE SYSTEM - 3 boutons.

  315.    Lorsque ce mode est commuté, seuls les boutons de gauche et de droit ont
  316.    actifs, le uton du milieu étant quant a lui innactif. Sous ce mode,

  319. 1.7 Mode MOUSE SYSTEM
  320.    Si vous êtes utilisateur d'AUTOCAD ou tout autre logiciel permettant de
  321.    meilleurs performances  avec le MOUSE SYSTEM, vous devez choisir cette

  386.    1. Encienda el ordenador.

  388.    2. Si tienne un sistema de disco fijo, introduzca el disco del controlador
  389.       del ratón en la unidad A y teclee el siguietie comando en el indicator
  390.       de DOS:

  394.       Si tienne un sistema con dos unidades de disco flexible, introduzca el
  395.       disco del controlador del ratón en la unidad A y teclee el siguiente

  398.    3. Utilizando un editor de texto (como, por ejemplo, EDLIN), introduzca el
  399.       comando:

  403.    4. Vuelva arrancar su ordenador. El software del ratón se cargara

  406. 1.2 Consejos para sujetar el ratón

  412. 1.3 Puerto de communicaciones (n)
  413.    El puerto de communicationes hace referencia a los dos puertos serie en
  414.    algunos ordenadores. El ratón se puede configurar para COM1 o para COM2.
  415.    El valor por defecto es COM1.

  417. 1.4 Selección del modo para de 2 o 3 botones
  418.    El ratón tiene un interruptor en la base para seleccionar el modo de
  419.    operación con 2 o 3 botones. Para configurar el ratón como un ratón
  420.    MICROSOFT (2 botones ), mueva el interuptor hacia la posición "MS".
  421.    Para configurar el ratón como un ratón MOUSE SYSTEM (3 botones), mueva
  422.    el interuptor hacia la posición "PC". Si desea cambiar el modo después
  423.    de hacer completado la instalación del soft ware,  mueva el interruptor
  424.    hacia la posición deseada. El ratón PS/2 solo se
  425.    puede instalar en un puerto de ratón PS/2.
